A miniature book, only 3 inches high, currently part of a collection in New York. Bound in 'Treasure Trove’ Russian leather recovered from the wreckage of the Metta Catharina. The pages are sewn sheets of handmade vellum, their edges coloured using distressed gilding. Tiny seed pearls decorate the stitching.
My silver work is inspired by the surviving heavily ornamented Medieval treasure bindings in the British Library.
The silver fretworked panels on the covers are set with cabouchon garnet, citrine, amethyst, blue topaz and freshwater pearls.
The design is framed with my trademark water twist technique borders.
